Avatar in the Amazon

If there were ever a place that came close to the magical world of Pandora in James Cameron’s new film Avatar, it would probably be the Amazon.

    Hi Eric,

    Great Blog! I'm from Colombia and although our Amazon Rainforest is not very big when compared with Brazil or Peru, is equally breathtaking, you can actually walk freely between those 3 borders, and the trip from Leticia to Iquitos is a must. This particular post of you caught my eye because in Peru they are comparing the Avatar movie with the terrible Bagua conflict last year ( http://www.karikuy.org/blog/2009/06/08/understanding-the-conflicts-in-bagua/) , sci fi apart, the resemblance with both stories is uncanny , actually they are referring to this episode as "Baguatar".
